Case Study: Building a Marketing Team for an Innovation Leader

In business since 1914, Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas is a total solutions provider. They offer scalable products and services from material handling and automation to extensive fleet support. 

In 2020, the company went through a rebranding and Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas group launched its expanded business bringing more than 100 years of material handling expertise to the marketplace. 

The Need for a Recruiting Firm Specializing in Marketing

In March 2020, Covid struck and everything went awry. After a few months, the industry experienced a significant increase, and business continued to grow. Logisnext saw order levels they’d never seen before. This demand brought the need to add more employees. They strategically focused on growing a particular segment of the warehouse side of the company, which necessitated the hiring of marketing personnel.

In 2022, Logisnext partnered with Naviga to fill an urgent need for a Marketing leader. They sought candidates with a blend of technical skill sets and marketing communications. Ideally, the new hire would be able to train a team under their leadership and understand the types of products Logisnext offers.

Furthermore, a Product Marketing Manager that was in this role for ten years left the company, leaving a leadership vacancy. The product team needed direction and the circumstances demanded a swift turnaround under a new leader. There was an overwhelming need to fill the role quickly.  

In the past, Logisnext has worked with various recruitment agencies based on their specific requirements. With this particular marketing role, they didn’t have a firm to hire. “We were looking for someone who specializes in this kind of search,” said Christy Willis, Director of Human Resources at Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas.

The new hire will be in charge of a team that creates content and marketing materials for dealer distribution. Subsequently, the Product Marketing Manager will work with the sales team to modify content and strategy based on what is learned in the market.
